Tues., Nov. 10 - 10:30 AM - Remembrance Day Assembly - Senior Band and Choir performing Wed., Nov. 25 - 6:30 PM - Light Up Blackfalds - Choir Wed., Dec. 2 - Senior Band and Grade 6 Band field trip to see "Shrek" at Red Deer College Tues., Dec. 15 - 7:00 PM - Winter Concert - featuring Junior Band, Senior Band, IRJC Choir and Grade Five Choir practices are Mondays and Thursdays at lunch recess. Choir members should hurry to the Band Room and eat as quickly as possible, because our practice time is VERY SHORT. Our choir trial dates have passed, so students who are coming to choir now have made the commitment to practice and perform with us through to the Winter Concert.
Now that our bands are up and running, it's time to begin home practice!! Practice is the "homework" for band class... it's just like anything else - if you want to get better on your instrument, you have to play it. The more you play it, the better you will get! To provide a little incentive, be sure to record your practice minutes on a Band Bucks sheet (available in the Band Room). For every 100 minutes of practice (verified by an adult in your house), you can earn a bag of chips or a chocolate bar. If you want to save up your minutes, 1000 minutes will get you a $10 ITunes card. So start practicing and recording your minutes today!!
The IRJC Choir will be doing a special "surprise" performance for the
Remembrance Day assembly. If possible, choir members need to wear ALL BLACK - from shirt to shoes - for this special performance. Long sleeved shirts are preferred! Wed., Oct. 7 - Day 5 - Junior Band
